The LABBB Early Childhood Program includes specifically designed classrooms for students with autism spectrum disorder and pervasive developmental disorder (PDD). The focus of the full day program is to develop skills and independence in the areas of communication, socialization, academic readiness, motor development and activities of daily living. Principals of Applied Behavior Analysis, including discrete trial training, guide individual and group instruction. Emphasis is placed on gaining independence through functional skill development and the use of the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). The program also provides opportunities for inclusion in less restrictive, integrated classrooms. Program services include speech/language, occupational, and physical therapy as well as behavioral consultation, parent training and summer program.
The LABBB Early Childhood Program has a specifically designed classroom for children with global developmental delays. The focus of the classroom is to develop skills and independence in the areas of communication, socialization, cognition, motor development and activities of daily living. The classroom, which includes 9 hours of integration with typically developing peers, emphasizes a multi-sensory, total communication approach through individual, small group and large group instruction. The classroom is staffed with a nurse to assist children who are experiencing medical challenges. Program services include speech/language, occupational, and physical therapy as well as behavioral consultation, parent training and a summer program.
The LABBB Early Childhood Program includes a specifically designed program for children with needs in the areas of language and social development. The curriculum is theme based with vocabulary, concepts, pre-academics and the arts integrated into each theme. The classroom, which includes 9 hours of integration with typically developing peers, follows the Early Childhood Program Standards and Preschool Learning Experiences developed by the early Childhood Advisory Council of the Massachusetts Department of Education. Positive behavioral support is used to promote social skills and school readiness. Program services include occupational, speech/language and physical therapy as well as behavioral consultation and parent training.
